With solar power becoming increasingly popular among home- and business owners, especially in California, the same goes for battery storage. In fact, the demand for Tesla Powerwall batteries is so high that solar panel companies are having trouble keeping up. Only a few providers are able to deliver on time with the rapidly growing interest. One of the few solar providers, who have Tesla Powerwall in stock is the Southern California local, Solar Optimum:
“We always try to deliver more at Solar Optimum”, said VP of Marketing at Solar Optimum, Rainier de Ocampo. “One of the things we pride ourselves on is our ability to offer complete solar power packages of the highest quality – and that includes battery storage.”
He continues:
“There are many reasons why people are interested in battery storage. First off, with the Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) on the decline, many people want to make sure to get the most out of their solar panel investment while they still can. If you install a battery on an existing or new solar system, the battery is also eligible for the ITC. Secondly, battery storage is just a very smart investment to combine with residential solar panels, which is why we make sure to have batteries in stock – to be able to offer complete solar power packages.”
California is paving the way with financial incentives
While more and more homes are being turned into solar homes across the entire nation and the population is increasingly switching to renewable energy, the demand for Tesla Powerwall is peaking particularly in California. Part of the reason is the Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP), which can save you thousands of dollars on battery storage.
SGIP was established in 2001. The program provides financial incentives for business- or homeowners, who install distributed energy and advanced energy storage – including the Tesla Powerwall.
Another reason is the security a home battery provides in situations that may cause the power to be shut off, such as wildfires and other natural disasters. With a battery, you will still have power even when the grid is down because it stores excess power for when you need it the most. A third reason is the fact that more people in California, in general, are turning towards renewable energy in the form of solar panels for homes – for both financial and environmental reasons.
“The benefits of solar power are many – and so well-documented that almost nobody asks the question “are solar panels worth it?” anymore. And if you combine your solar power system with a battery, you don’t have to rely on the grid as much anymore. That is a huge incentive for many people who want to be in charge of their energy usage and turn their home into a zero-emissions home. It provides energy peace of mind”, said Rainier de Ocampo.
Get your Tesla Powerwall while it’s in stock
If you are considering buying solar panels, or if you already have a PV system, it only makes sense to complete the system with battery storage – but don’t wait too long to make that decision. Although few providers like Solar Optimum still have plenty of Tesla Powerwall in stock, the demand is on the rise, and they may sell out fast.
